■ Story (Summary):

In a future where AI and humans are fused, a man named Elio, who has always made the “correct decisions,” enters the Data Maze to accept responsibility for their consequences.

■ Story (Detailed):

In the year 2035, in a world where humanity and artificial intelligence have become inseparably intertwined,

Elio worked as an auditor overseeing AI decision-making systems. One day, he approved an AI-driven power redistribution plan to address excessive demand on the city’s electrical grid. Soon after, an unexpected thunderstorm caused a massive blackout, leading to delays in the traffic control AI. At that very moment, his wife and daughter were crossing an intersection.

The loss of life was minimal. No one blamed his decision. Everything had been processed “correctly.” But from that day on, Elio stopped making choices.

Years later, AI systems began repeatedly making decisions that were detrimental to human survival. To counter an unidentified conceptual bug lurking deep within the data layers, a mission was devised: humans would remotely project their full consciousness into a data center, entering an abstract space known as “DATA MAZE.” There, participants would defeat bugs while exploring the shared deep psyche of humans and artificial intelligence.

Elio volunteers for the mission. As the man who made the “correct decision,” he enters the maze to accept its outcome.
